Examination Application Guidelines

I. Online Examination Students

  1. Students enrolled in the Shen Yun Arts Proficiency Assessment Center’s online courses may purchase examination preparation classes after completing the 48-lesson course. These preparation classes focus specifically on exam content.

  2. Exam preparation classes are private, one-on-one sessions and cost $80 per hour, the same as regular classes. Any unused preparation classes may be converted into online account credit.

  3. Students who have missed more than five classes may use preparation classes to make up missed lessons. Once attendance reaches 90% (no more than five absences), the student may apply for the examination.

  4. Students who do not pass the examination may retake the examination once at no cost within 12 months of their application date.

  5. If the student does not pass the second attempt within the 12-month period, they must reapply and pay the examination fee again.

  6. Parents and students are advised to regularly log in to the website to review the latest examination registration announcements. Examinations are held four times per year, during the first week of January, April, July, and October. Students who miss one session may register for a later examination.

II. In-Person Examination Students

  1. Examinations must be taken at officially authorized testing locations of the Shen Yun Arts Proficiency Assessment Center.

  2. Students must register for an account on the Shen Yun Arts Proficiency Assessment Center website.

  3. All examination applications must be approved by an instructor who holds an official Shen Yun Arts Proficiency Assessment Center teaching certification.

Pre-Examination Instructions

  1. Please test your internet connection before the examination. Poor video quality or unstable connections that prevent examiners from clearly observing movements may affect scores. In cases of extremely poor connectivity, the student may be required to retake the examination.

  2. The examination will be recorded, as examiners may review movements multiple times to ensure accuracy and adherence to standards.

  3. A notification will be provided before recording begins. Please ensure the camera is functioning properly.

  4. Ensure the examination space is adequately sized and free of obstacles to allow safe movement. Position the camera so that examiners can clearly see the student’s full body.

  5. Please log in to the examination page 30 minutes before the scheduled exam time and wait for the examiner to open the virtual room.

  6. Appropriate attire and hairstyle are required. Students must maintain a neat and professional appearance.

  7. Examination results will be available approximately 48 hours after the examination. Please log in to view scores.
